They’re 4 and 0, and top of the Waratah Basketball League – but the Hunters have been given a scare, with star recruit Austin Thornton in a moon-boot and nervously awaiting the result of MRI scans, after injuring his ankle.

“A little bit frustrating is a bit of a understatement. Extremely frustrating would be a better way to describe it. Just because you hate to be the guy who comes in as an import, plays 3 to 4 games then you’re in a boot.”

Thornton has lit up the league since his arrival, thankfully the injury isn’t thought to be too serious.

It’s likely he will miss the Hunters’ clash with the Bears tomorrow night though, the women are in action beforehand, from 5pm.
