NEW VALLEY FIRE JUMPS CONTAINMENT LINES
The bushfire danger period may be over in the New England area, but firefighters have been kept busy, with a blaze breaking out between Tingha and Guyra late yesterday.
The New Valley fire has already burnt through more than 800-hectares, jumping containment lines along Junction Road.
The fire is currently being controlled – with water bombing aircraft supporting ground crews.
No properties are under threat, but the Rural Fire Service says the fire could burn for a number of days.
