FIVE TEENS CHARGED AFTER POLICE PURSUIT

Five teenagers have been charged after they were pursued by police several times yesterday in northern New South Wales.

Police attempted to stop a Subaru on Tweed Valley Way, Tumbulgum on Tuesday morning. The car was reported stolen from Tugun on Monday.

The car allegedly reached a speed of 120 kilometres an hour in a 100 k zone before police called off a pursuit .

Queensland’s Polair was called in after the car was seen across the border on the Pacific Highway around 10.50 last night.

The vehicle was stopped on Rosella Close,Tweed Heads and the five teens fled the scene.

Three teens were arrested after being tracked down by the dog unit. The other two were arrested a short time later.

All were charged and will face Children’s Court.
