VOLVO OCEAN RACE HEADS FOR MOST REMOTE PLACE ON EARTH

The Volvo Ocean Race is about to reach a unique point known as Point Nemo, the most remote place on the planet, halfway between New Zealand and the tip of South America.
The closest humans to the sailors are likely to be on the International Space Station, 400 kilometres above.
Heavy winds and the occasional snow storm are making matters even more difficult.
“Half the time you’re not really in control. You’re hanging on for dear life. But it’s fun at the same time.”
At this point, Kyle Langford’s Team Brunel leads the race, with Lucas Chapman’s Turn the Tide on Plastic in fourth.
