HUNTER HEAT HITS HOTTEST DAY SINCE 2004

Much of the Hunter sweltered in unseasonably hot March weather today, the temperature peaking in Cessnock and Maitland at 5-pm, hitting 38 degrees.

Many flocking to the coast to ease the heat.

While Newcastle had its hottest March day since 2004.

Hitting 36-degrees at Nobbys Beach and 38-degrees at Williamtown.

And Sydney suffered through its hottest late March day in 78-years.
