THREE-YEAR-OLD ATTACKED BY DOG IN NEWCASTLE

A three-year-old boy has been rushed to John Hunter Hospital after being mauled by a dog while riding his bike in Mayfield last night.

Police say the dog ran from an Antill Street property and attacked the boy just after 6:30pm.

He suffered injuries to his face, neck and upper back, it’s believed his injuries are non-life threatening.

The dog ran back into its property after the attack.

Police and Newcastle City Council are conducting inquiries.

This is the third dog attack on a child in the past week.
