ELDERLY WOMAN RESCUED NEAR TAREE

UPDATE

An elderly woman has now been rescued, after she was trapped in the vehicle for more than an hour with her head just above water.

She’s been transported to Manning Base Hospital.

A rescue is unfolding on the mid north coast, after a car plunged into a river north west of Taree.

The Westpac helicopter has been sent to Bobin, where a woman remains trapped in the vehicle, with her head just above water.

She’s communicating with police.
