SURFEST ON HOLD FOR A DAY AS ACE DROPS OUT

Dramatic scenes at Surfest with competition called off after just one heat this morning, due to wild conditions.
Surfers in heat two of the women’s opening round were unable to get beyond the break… while a jetski rider was thrown off by a wave.
“Oh woah. Oh my goodness. The jetski is washing in. Conditions are really difficult.”
Thankfully he wasn’t seriously injured.
It wasn’t the only blow – with confirmation men’s fourth seed Adrian Buchan from the Central Coast has withdrawn from the event, due to illness.
