TWO ARRESTED AFTER ALLEGEDLY ATTEMPTING TO RUN POLICE OFF NORTH COAST ROAD

Two men, both aged 24, have been arrested for drug offences after an alleged attempt to run a police vehicle off the road on the North Coast.

The Mitsubishi Triton travelling along Stony Chute Road, west of Nimbin, around 1pm on Sunday when police attempted to stop the vehicle.

It is alleged the car continued towards the officers, attempting to run their car off the road.

Their vehicle was eventually stopped with both the driver and passenger arrested and taken to Lismore Police Station.

Both were charged with multiple drug offences, while the driver was also charged with using a weapon to avoid apprehension.
