SWIMMER MISSING NEAR COFFS HARBOUR

A search is underway for a man who went missing while swimming at a beach on the state’s North Coast.

Emergency services responded to reports of a 22-year-old man becoming stuck in a rip and swept out to sea just before 6pm at Valla Beach.

Police, the Westpac Rescue Helicopter, Marine Rescue, and Surf Life Saving conducted the search, which was later suspended due to low light.

It recommenced early this morning.
