P-PLATER ALLEGEDLY POSTS 209KM/H IN 110 ZONE

Police have recorded a P-plate driver allegedly speeding almost 100km/h over the limit on the Pacific Highway at Raymond Terrace.

At around 10.30am yesterday, police say they recorded a utility being driven at 209km/h in a 110km/h zone.

The driver – an 18-year-old man – was arrested and later charged with driving recklessly, exceeding the speed limit by more than 45km/h, and not displaying P-plates.

The man, from Raymond Terrace, was also alleged to have breached his bail conditions, and his licence was suspended on the spot.

He is scheduled to appear at Raymond Terrace Local Court in April.
