COAST FAREWELLS FORMER LABOR MP GRANT MCBRIDE

Tributes are flowing for former Member for The Entrance Grant McBride, who passed away last night, following a battle with Alzheimer’s.

He was elected in 1992 and held the seat until his retirement in 2011, also serving as Minister for the Central Coast and an electorate officer to former Prime Minister Gough Whitlam.

In a statement, current Member for the Entrance, David Mehan, said Mr McBride made a lasting contribution to the region’s development and will be sorely missed.

He was 68-years-old.
