NUNDLE AND MANILLA WATER RESTRICTIONS TIGHTEN, AGAIN

The ongoing lack of rain is being felt in the Peel and Namoi rivers.

From tomorrow, residents at Nundle and Manilla will again have water restrictions tightened, as the towns move to level two.

Tamworth Regional Council says the Peel River at Nundle has now stopped flowing, with water from the Crawney Road bore now backing up the town’s water supply.

While at Manilla, flow in the Namoi River is less than one megalitre a day.

Level two restrictions mean residents cannot use sprinklers or fixed hoses, and hand held hoses can only be used between 6pm and 8am.

It comes less than a month after level one restrictions were introduced.
