STACEY PORTER PLAYS 400TH MATCH FOR AUSTRALIAN SOFTBALL TEAM

Tamworth softball player, Stacey Porter, has become just the second person in 70 years to play 400 games for her country.

The Aussie Spirit captain reached the milestone yesterday, with the team making the final of the Asia Pacific Cup against Japan.

While the result didn’t fall in Australia’s favour, the two-time Olympic medallist finished the tournament with an achievement nonetheless.

She now sits behind all-time record holder and four-time Olympic medallist Natalie Ward on 429 games.
