The man previously charged with the 20-15 manslaughter of Kyle Watkins will NOT be re-trialled.
Tyson Egan faced court in December last year over the one-punch death of his long-time friend, on a night out in Coffs Harbour.
The six-day trial ended with a hung jury – divided over whether the punch Egan inflicted could be considered self-defence.
The Director of Public Prosecutions says there’ll be no further proceedings in the case.
Egan acknowledged the support of his family and friends in a post on social media.
