Port Macquarie Council has welcomed the town’s most recent accolade…named as one of the top ten places to visit in Australia, according to an online travel company.
Wotif’s inaugural awards found the coastal town was number seven based on demand, adorability, year-on-year growth and the amount of properties available.
Its location to family fun activities also played a part in landing it number one in New South Wales.
“I mean we have beautiful coastlines, gorgeous weather our eateries are second to none, it’s just a wonderful place to play and stay.”
In the last 12 months more than 1.5 million tourists have visited the region.
