MERINO FIELD DAYS DRAW PROMISING CROWDS, SUPPORTING LOCAL PRODUCERS
The New England Merino Field Days have wrapped up after two days of tours on local properties.
19 sheep studs took part- opening their gates to the public and potential buyers.
Organisers believe the high number of visitors was due to the current soaring wool and meat prices.
“A lot of interest. Not just tyres kickers, there was people really interested with investing in New England merino rams and ewes – they were inquiring in the ewes as well,” Tim Bower, President New England Merino Field Days.
The showcase also drew international and interstate buyers, who will hopefully return to the New England for the local stud’s upcoming ram sales.
