DRIVER ALLEGEDLY TESTS POSITIVE FOR CANNABIS WITH TWO CHILDREN ON-BOARD

Police have allegedly discovered a quantity of illegal drugs after stopping a vehicle with two children on board.

The sedan was stopped for speeding on the M1 at Mandalong on the Central Coast just after midday on Tuesday.

Police allege the 51-year-old male driver tested positive for cannabis during a roadside drug test.

Two children and an another adult were also in the vehicle at the time.

2.4kg of cannabis, more than 300 capsules of ecstasy (MDMA), $11,500 in cash, and a knife were allegedly discovered during a subsequent search of the car.

The man was charged with a range of offences, including five counts of possessing a prohibited drug, dealing with the proceeds of crime, supplying a prohibited drug, and custody of knife in public place.
