CHAMPNESS EARNS A SPOT IN AUSTRALIAN UNDER-23 SQUAD

Emerging Jet’s forward Joe Champness has been named in the Australian squad for the 2018 AFC Under-23 Championships in China.

Champness takes the place of injured Jaushua Sotirio, and comes after being named the December nominee for the A-League Young Footballer of the Year Award.

Champness has also scored three goals for the Jets in their current A-League campaign, and joins fellow Jets Nick Cowburn and Riley McGree in the representative side.

He will miss at least two upcoming Jets’ fixtures against the Roar and Wellington.
