The new year has brought with it new arrivals across the region.
Penelope McNamara was one of the first babies born in the Hunter this year, arriving at 1:23am on New Year’s Day at Newcastle Private Hospital.
Her proud parents welcoming their second daughter two weeks early, much to the delight of their family.
“They were excited. Everyone started placing their bets because we kind of thought things would happen sooner. They were all placing their bets but they’re excited she’s here early,” said Penelope’s mother, Emaleigh.
