Newcastle police are calling on bakery owners to remain vigilant after a number of stores have been robbed in the early hours of the morning.
Owners and staff are being asked to keep doors locked and not to open them for anyone ahead of opening hours, when workers are preparing for the day’s trade.
No one has been injured during the robberies.
