RAIL TRACK CORPORATION TO HOLD NARRABRI MEETING

A series of community meetings will be held next week, following the announcement of the Inland Rail study corridor between Narromine and Narrabri.

The Australian Rail Track Corporation will hold an information session at Narrabri’s Crossing Theatre next Monday from 5pm.

The ARTC says local knowledge is vital in moving forward with the Inland Rail project, balancing economic and environmental considerations.

“In the New Year, we’ll be looking to create community consultative committees. We’ll be looking for nominations from local residents and business owners,” Olivia Newman, Inland Rail Project.

The freight rail aims to compete with road freight, transporting goods between Melbourne and Brisbane under 24 hours.

“With Inland Rail being the largest infrastructure rail project in Australia, it creates enormous opportunity for businesses to participate and create jobs on the project,” Simon Thomas, Inland Rail Project.
