TEEN STABBED IN THE FACE DURING WHARF ROAD BRAWL

A teenager has been stabbed in the face during a brawl in Newcastle overnight.

The 18-year-old left a licensed premises on Wharf Road around 2.45am.

Police say a fight erupted inside the club between his friends and another group of men, and they were all kicked out.

The 18-year-old rejoined his friends and shortly after an altercation broke out between him and a male from the other group.

During the fight he suffered multiple stab wounds to his head and hand from a small knife.

The teenager was taken to John Hunter hospital for treatment.

Police are searching for a man described as being in his early 20’s with red hair.
