SWELL OF SUPPORT FOR VICTIM OF GAS EXPLOSION

An online crowd-funding page for the father of three severely burnt in yesterday’s gas explosion at Lismore racecourse has hit its $5000 target in just three hours.

Lismore Turf Club secretary manager Scott Jones suffered burns to almost 50 per cent of his body as a result of a suspected gas leak in the racecourse canteen.

The 30-year-old was airlifted to the Royal Brisbane Hospital yesterday afternoon and put in an induced coma while he awaits skin grafts.
