Port Macquarie’s tourism sector has been given a boost with two attractions receiving top honours at this year’s New South Wales Tourism Awards in Sydney.
Sea Acres Rainforest Centre won gold in the Visitor Information Services category, while Hello Koalas Sculpture Trail took out honours in the Cultural Tourism category.
This year there were 100 finalists across 27 categories.
The accolades mean both attractions are now eligible for a national award, announced in Perth in February.
