ALARMING SPATE OF ATTACKS ON COUNCIL PARKING OFFICERS

New figures have revealed the level of violence and aggression being directed at parking officers and rangers in Newcastle.

In the past two years, there have been 40 physical and verbal attacks.

Council CEO Jeremy Bath says more respect needs to be shown.

“In some cases we’ve had motorists swerving to hit parking officers, we’ve had people pulling screw drivers out and threatening to slit the throats of parking officers.”

Mr Bath says the officers are just doing their job.

  1. Hi Jane, Is this FAKE news or is the report true. If true and offences not reported to police WHY and why is it news. If true and offences have been reported and charged or waiting to be charged why wasn’t it included in the news report?.
