A pair of Tamworth hockey stars have returned from Malaysia with gold medals, after helping Australia reclaim its Sultan of Johor Cup title late on Sunday night.
Ehren Hazell and Isaac Farmilo were integral in the national Under 21s side’s effort to overturn an early tournament loss to Great Britain, to win the final two-nil.
It was a successful start to Hazell’s international career, with the week long competition the first time he’s represented his country.
While it’s also another step towards the Kookaburras for Farmilo, having previously played for the Australian Schoolboys, and Australian Under 18s.
