VAN BREUGEL SEVENTH IN STELLAR FIELD

After setting a new personal best in the heats, Woy Woy’s Cassie Van Breugel qualified for the 100-metres Breaststroke Final, at the Australian Short Course Championships in Adelaide.

Swimming from lane eight in the blue suit and white cap, Van Bruegel matched some of the World’s best down the first lap;

Including London Olympic Champion Ruta Meilutyte.

At the half way mark, the 23 year old was in medal contention, but faded in the final 50 to finish seventh, three seconds behind winner Jessica Hansen.

She will now feature in tonight’s 200 metre final.
