MAN WANTED IN RELATION TO GOLD COAST TAXI ROBBERY
A 58-year-old male taxi driver has had the window of his vehicle smashed with a hammer, before being robbed on the Gold Coast.
The incident happened just before 12:30am today, when the driver stopped on Muir Street, Southport.
After smashing the driver’s side window with a hammer, the assailant demanded money, claiming he had a knife.
The victim handed over a sum of cash and his mobile phone, the thief then fled when the driver sounded the car horn.
He’s described as Caucasian, around 180cm tall with a slim build and wearing a dark coloured hooded jumper.
The taxi driver was not injured.
Police want to hear from witnesses.
