ONE KILLED AND ANOTHER AIRLIFTED IN SEPARATE ROAD ACCIDENTS

One person is dead and another has been airlifted to hospital after two separate crashes overnight.

A 26-year-old man, believed to be from Morisset, died when his car left a road in Bonnells Bay and hit a power pole around 4am.

Police and bystanders attempted to help the critically injured man but he died at the scene on Fishery Point Road.

Only several hours earlier, a car left Wisemans Ferry Road in Mangrove Mountain and crashed into a pole.

The 25-year-old male driver was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in a stable condition.
