WOMAN WAKES TO FIND ALLEGED INTRUDER IN BEDROOM

A woman has been stabbed during a break and enter at West Gosford on the Central Coast.

Shortly after one o’clock this morning, a 22-year-old man allegedly entered a home in Faunce Street through a window.

A 28-year-old woman, who was asleep in the bedroom, awoke and lashed out at the man.

It’s alleged he slashed her several times with a knife.

The man fled from the premises, but was arrested by police who were patrolling the area.

He was charged with aggravated break enter and wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and will appear at Wyong Bail Court tomorrow.

The woman was taken to hospital where she was treated for several injuries including a possible punctured lung.
