Organisers of the Hastings’ Sports Awards are on the hunt for more nominees ahead of the 18th annual event.
Four of the seven categories are almost full but there’s plenty of spaces available for those who consider themselves worthy of the title ‘sports person of the year,’ ‘sports person with a disability’ and the volunteer award.
“People don’t have to be an Olympian to nominate for the awards we just want to celebrate people who are really committed people who are spending a lot of their time and effort committed to the sport and give them a little bit of support.”
On the night a panel of judges will decide who they think is the most deserving of each award.
$3,000 will be distributed across all seven categories to help local athletes pursue their sporting dreams.
