Gunnedah Mayor Jamie Chaffey is calling for a decision to be made on the future of the Gunnedah Rural Health Centre.
While Mackeller Care has been identified as the preferred party to take over, Mayor Chaffey says the doctors are ready to go…. but they can’t wait forever.
The Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson says the state and federal governments along with Hunter New England Health want to ensure they get it right.
“For ten years that centre stumbled and tripped along and we want to provide a service that is sustainable and viable into the future,” Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson said.
Mr Anderson says Mackeller Care is almost over the line, with a decision expected very soon.
