FIRE THREATENS HOMES IN TUNCURRY

A fire that’s been burning for over a week along Aerodrome Road at Nabiac this afternoon jumped the Wallamba River into Tuncurry… with spot fires starting at Tuncurry Golf Course.

Two helicopters were brought in to help fight the blaze…

But the flames spread further as winds picked up.

Residents along the Lakes Way, across from the golf course, were urged by the RFS to stay inside until further notice
