WILKO WORLD TITLE SLIPS FURTHER OUT OF REACH

Avoca surfer Matt Wilkinson’s chances of claiming a maiden world title continue to slip away after his performance in round two of the Trestles Pro this morning.

The 28-year-old was bumped by wildcard Evan Geiselman.

It came down to wave choice, with Wilko failing to find waves with much substance.

Geiselman pulled out some big manoeuvres to oust the current world number three, finishing with a total of 15 point 5.

Wilko will remain third on the ladder.
