JETS TAKE PRE-SEASON WIN OVER SYDNEY FC

The Newcastle Jets have beat Sydney FC 2-1 this afternoon in a pre season friendly.

They’ll take a lot of confidence from the first half – with both sides starting near full-strength.

The Jets created plenty of chances – this one deemed offside.

And although Sydney did have some of their own – Alex Brosque hitting the upright early.

The home side dominated possession – and this perfect ball from Andrew Nabbout gave Dimi Petratos an opportunity. His finish was composed.

The defending champions warmed into the contest but in the first, couldn’t get past Jack Duncan.

There were big personnel changes in the second.

Overall, a good start to life in their new kits, a play on the original with a subtle stripe down the middle of the shirts.
