KEMPSEY MAN CHARGED WITH ATTEMPTING TO IMPORT DRUGS

A Mid North Coast man has been charged after allegedly buying drugs over the internet, before trying to import them to Australia in the mail.

Police arrested the 22-year-old at a property on Clyde Street in Kempsey around midday yesterday.

During a search of the home, police allegedly seized nearly 800 grams of MDMA and a substantial amount of cash.

He was charged with five counts of importing a border controlled drug, supplying a prohibited drug, and dealing with the proceeds of crime.
