Historic Maitland Gaol will be given a new lease on life, thanks to more than half a million dollars in state funding.
The boost will help address ongoing roof and safety issues.
“There’s some roof repairs that really need to be done but it is in the main making it a safe environment for both workers and the people visiting Maitland Gaol,” Parliamentary Secretary for the Hunter Scot MacDonald says.
It’s one of 440 projects across New South Wales to benefit from the latest round of Public Reserves Management funding.
