ELDERLY MAN AND WOMAN DIE IN GOLD COAST CAR CRASH

Two people have been killed in a major crash near the Gold Coast yesterday.

Police say a Toyota sedan was travelling south along Waterford-Tamborine Road at Buccan around 10:30am, when it crossed into the oncoming lane and hit a Holden four-wheel-drive.

A Toyota Rav 4 has then crashed into the four-wheel-drive.

The man and woman in the sedan – both aged 81 from Stapylton – were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the four-wheel-drive and the four occupants of the Rav 4, including two children, were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
