MUSWELLBROOK COUNCIL GOES HEAD-TO-HEAD WITH MINING COMPANY

Muswellbrook Council is taking Ridgelands Coal to the Supreme Court – alleging it owes $5-million.
The council claims the Hong Kong-based company was going to contribute to a community fund, as part of an exploration licence granted for land at Wybong in 2013.
Ridgelands claims it was only required to pay $500,000.
The matter will be heard on August 29.
