A man will face court today, following a 16-hour stand-off on a yacht at Lake Macquarie.
The stand-off began around 10:30 yesterday morning, when officers tried to speak with a man on yacht, which was moored around 200-metres offshore at Carey Bay.
Police allege he was armed with a knife, before setting fire to the back of the boat.
It’s also alleged he became aggressive and attempted to fire flares at officers.
The man was arrested just after three o’clock this morning, after he jumped in the water and swam to shore.
He’s been charged with a string of offences and will face Newcastle Local Court today.
