Police have released images of a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries following the armed robbery of a taxi driver near Newcastle last week.
Just before 6:30pm last Saturday (15/7), the taxi driver collected a man on Maitland Road in Mayfield.
They drove to Raymond Terrace and as the taxi entered Morgan Crescent, the passenger produced a knife and held it to the taxi driver’s throat, demanding cash.
The taxi driver, aged 33, complied and the armed man fled with a sum of cash.
The man is described as being male, aged in his 30s, approximately 177cm tall, of medium build with a beard, and tattoo on the right side of his neck.
