NEW ENGLAND BUSINESSES EMBRACE COUNTRY OF ORIGIN LABELLING
Producers across the New England and North West are starting to introduce the Federal Government’s new Country of Origin Food labelling.
The new requirements came into effect in June last year, with businesses given two years to make the switch.
Mullaley business Lively Linseed is one business that’s already got on board.
“Surveys show around that around 75 per cent of Australians found the current system of labelling confusing and wanted something better.”
The new labels will paint a clearer picture for consumers, with producers also set to benefit.
“More and more people are looking to support Australian farmers, but have been frustrated up until now with the ability to do that, this is very straight forward and very simple to understand.”
