TWO POLICE INJURED WHEN CAR STRUCK BY ANOTHER VEHICLE

Two police officers have been injured when the car they were travelling in was struck by another vehicle on the Central Coast overnight.

Police were responding to reports of a car fire near Patonga Road in Patonga just before 8:30pm last night, when their vehicle was struck by the third vehicle.

Two senior constables, a 40-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman, were treated by paramedics before being taken to Gosford hospital in a stable condition.

The driver of the third vehicle, a man aged 21, was taken for mandatory testing. He was not injured.

Fire crews extinguished the car that was on fire without incident.
