MidCoast Water will be dissolved after a decision by council yesterday.
From July first, it will become part of council’s business operations, saving rate payers an estimated three-million-dollars.
General Manager Glen Handford says it was a logical move, following recent amalgamations.
“We have the same rate payers now, because MidCoast Water sits in the same geographic area as MidCoast Council. So fifty-thousand rate assessments are exactly the same.”
At this early stage council says no jobs will be lost, and it will be business as usual.
