TWO ARRESTED OVER 1997 GOLD COAST COLD CASE

Two men have been arrested over a Gold Coast cold case dating back to 1997.

47-year-old Phillip Carlyle was found dead at a Glenferrie Drive business in Robina in April that year.

He had sustained four gunshot wounds to the head.

The cold case investigation was reopened in 2016 as part of Operation Carye, in an attempt to find those responsible for Mr Carlyle’s murder.

Police investigations have now led to the arrest of a 68-year-old Robina man and a 66-year-old Reedy Creek man this morning, in relation to the murder.

Police believed that Mr Carlyle likely knew his killer.
