GOLD COAST BLAZE TREATED AS SUSPICIOUS

Gold Coast police are investigating a house fire, which left a man in hospital yesterday afternoon.

Police say around 12:20pm yesterday, two female neighbours saw flames and smoke coming from a Coachwood Drive residence in Molendinar.

The women went inside and pulled a man from the home.

Fire crews extinguished the blaze, but the structure was extensively damaged.

A 42-year-old man sustained facial burns and was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area to contact them.
