HUNTER WOMAN ASSAULTED AND DETAINED FOR OVER 12 HOURS

Police allege a woman in the Hunter has been assaulted, choked and detained over a 12 hour period by her partner.

A 36-year-old man was arrested at a unit in Kurri Kurri around 8pm last night, following reports of a domestic incident.

Police say the woman sustained several injuries during the ordeal.

The man has been charged with ten offences including contravening an AVO.

He faced Maitland Local Court today, where he’ll remain in custody.
