SECURITY DOORS DENY GOLD COAST ROBBER

Police are on the lookout for a man after the attempted armed robbery of a Gold Coast service station.

Around 2:30am on Friday, a man drove an older model navy blue Toyota Tarago into the business on Gainsborough Drive in Pimpama.

The man approached the locked front doors of the service station armed with a large knife, and carrying a black bag.

Staff kept the doors locked, and the man stabbed and kicked at the doors several times.

The glass shattered but remained intact, and having been denied entry, the man got back into the vehicle in drove off.

No one was injured in the incident.

Police say the offender was wearing a dark blue/ black hoodie, dark blue/black pants, black shoes and grey clothing over his face at the time of the incident.
