ONLINE EDUCATION PUSH FOR REGIONAL UNI STUDENTS
The Pro Vice Chancellor of the University of New England addressed the community at its Taree campus today.
Trevlor Goldstone spoke about the challenges faced by those seeking secondary education in regional areas.
Around forty percent of school leavers in Sydney will go onto University.
In regional area’s – that figure is halved to just 20 percent.
“That’s a big problem for the regions because it means we’re not fostering and developing talent in the regions to stay in the regions.”
With online study becoming more popular, there is more opportunity for regional students to continue studying.
